Today, I bring you 6 fun fashion sketching ideas for you to try even if you are a complete beginner or an advanced person. It works for both.

A few things we need before you get started with fashion sketching are:

Fashion sketching idea #1 Cutouts

This is a great idea for total beginners. All you have to do is draw your favorite clothes, cut them out, Place them on any interesting pattern. Finally adding details with black and white pencils. Check out for full fashion sketching tutorial here.

Fashion Sketching Idea #2 Sequins

Another beginner idea. All you have to do is draw any favorite dress or accessory and stick some sequins of your choice.

Fashion Sketching Idea #3 Tie and Dye

Oh, this is a super fun way to make some flowy fashion illustrations. This technique can get really messy but the end results are soooo awesome.

All you have to do is, wet the surface of your sketches and play with some paint gently touching with the brush. The water on the surface creates patterns for you.

Fashion Sketching Idea #4 Shapes

This is inspired by the art of mosaic, where shapes are arranged to color any design to create an interesting texture.

Pick your favorite shape and draw them on the sketch to create a 3D-like pattern, Just like I did with the triangles here. You can color the shapes in different colors or different shades of one single color or even paint each shape in gradient. The limits are endless here.

Fashion Sketching Idea #5 Sparkly Stones

This is one of my favorite ways to add that Zing for any fashion sketches.

For any fashion sketch, add lines with dark colors and then add white dots to make it sparkly and give the rich texture.

Fashion Sketching Idea #6 Couture

Now it gets a little harder. (Saving the best for the last lol)

Start with adding little color patches, paint the background, add some white lines to form a flower-like shape, Finally add depth with black lines.
